SHERMAN, Texas (Dec. 12, 2025) – Red River ER & Hospital celebrated the significant milestone of the reopening of its micro-hospital in Sherman with a family-friendly community event on Sunday, Dec. 7, at the facility located at 2022 N Hwy 75.
The grand opening celebration, held from 1-3 p.m., welcomed many in the community, including staff, residents and, USMH paramedics, who came together to recognize the advancement in local medical care. The event featured a hot chocolate bar, a build-your-own donut station, a bounce house, and a surprise appearance by the cartoon character, Bluey. Music was provided by DJ Cold Hard Fruth, and the event was planned and coordinated by Refined Corporate Events.
“I’m excited to be part of this community,” said Jose Muniz, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Red River ER & Hospital. “It meant a lot to meet so many families and feel that energy from everyone who came out to support us.”
The reopening of the 18,500-square-foot facility restores local access to a micro-hospital emergency room equipped with an on-site laboratory and advanced diagnostic technology. Patients can expect convenient, comfortable, and personalized care, including short wait times and meaningful one-on-one time with a physician.
“My hope is that you never need emergency care, but life happens, and sometimes things take a turn,” said Dr. Muniz. “If that moment ever comes, we are here, close to home, and ready to take care of you and your family.”
